About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Sales Manager with a zeal to win, a kind heart, an unwavering team spirit, a positive attitude and a great sense of humor to join our rapidly growing team. The Sales Manager will be charged with building, training, directly managing, and supporting a growing sales team. The successful candidate will onboard new Account Executives as quickly and effectively as possible, all while coaching and supporting ramped reps, handling general day to day issues, keeping leadership updated on quarterly forecast changes, and taking on special strategic or tactical projects as assigned.
The Sales Manager will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve team bookings targets
- Implement and improve upon the ClearGov training program for new Account Executives
- Train new AEs to ensure a quick and effective ramp
- Manage and coach AEs to help them develop and execute on a strategic plan to optimize pipeline creation and growth
- Serve as the main point of contact/support resource for his or her team of Account Executives to answer questions, handle day to day issues, etc.
- Hold weekly one on ones to discuss ‘big bet’ deals, assist AEs as needed, and have a strong understanding of individual pipelines
- Deliver demos on behalf of newly hired AEs until they are capable of delivering successful demos themselves
- Provide Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) with weekly quarterly forecasts for his/her team on a weekly basis
- Support the sales teams by offering continuing education sessions
- Oversee that AEs are hitting metrics (such as activity targets, demo targets, sales tool usage, etc.) within the sales cycle that will support quarterly quota attainment
- Work with CRO and Sales Operations manager to detect repeatable trends/patterns to ultimately make sales processes more effective and efficient
- Keep an open line of communication with the team, listen to feedback/ideas, and vocalize this to the CRO. Keep tabs on the pulse of sales and help to improve processes where possible and assist the team however they need
- Work on cross-functional teams as needed to represent the sales perspective as company strategy evolves
- Lead special projects from time to time, as assigned to improve sales effectiveness and productivity
- Best practices documentation
Critical Skills/Experience:
- Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- 3+ years of management and/or SaaS/software selling experience
- Direct experience in selling to government entities a PLUS
- Ability to accurately project and manage pipelines
- Salesforce.com (or other CRM), Microsoft Office experience required
- Proven ability to train and support a team (4+ direct reports)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
