As an Engineering Manager at Ohi, you will lead a team building the technical systems and products required by Ohi to quickly scale and grow. You will prioritize testing, collaboration, attention to detail, meeting commitments, and having fun. You will be part of a company that is democratizing instant commerce for all e-commerce companies, providing consumers with a faster, more engaging, and more sustainable post-purchase experience.

Responsibilities Include
  • Lead a team responsible for a portion of a domain which you know well, demonstrating good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for developing technical solutions
  • Provide leadership for a team that builds software that the business and clients love
  • Lead and drive your team into the completion of your their long-term (multi-month) projects
  • Have or, develop in a short time, a deep understanding of the application of our work on
  • Write system and architectural documents, perform code reviews, and be responsible for your team’s design and team code quality
  • Ensure your team’s designs reflect a passion for scale and performance, while showing a concern for about testing and performance
  • Build feedback loops with senior internal and external personnel across the company
  • Be responsible for evaluating direct reports' strengths and weaknesses, providing them timely and constructive feedback
  • Master our industry, organization structure, products, and OKRs
  • Own your team's technical strategy and metrics
  • Communicate your team's OKRs and roadmap vision, inspiring your team to work more effectively and with passion
  • Articulate OKRs and roadmap vision to all stakeholders and begin influencing the direction of the broader company
  • Effectively inform senior stakeholders and executive levels of your team’s progress and dependencies across the company, proactively
  • Influence peers, product managers, project stakeholders as well our leadership
  • Communicate complex issues clearly to a diverse audience, and to identify our cross-org communication challenges and drive changes to prevent them in the future
  • Actively contribute to recruitment of software engineers and to improving recruiting processes
Skills And Requirements
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field
  • 10+ years working as a software engineer
  • Have 6+ years experience architecting, building or maintaining enterprise software systems, ecommerce desired
  • Have 4+ years experience building or maintaining supply chain systems, desired
  • Bring a practical approach to develop solutions that solve problems
  • Are self-directed and effective at managing your time across multiple priorities and projects
  • Lead a team implementing elements of a supply chain enterprise software system solution
  • Has an operations level understanding of the of the ecommerce domain space you worked on
  • Demonstrates exceptional people skills, across the organization, including ability to network with senior personnel in own area of expertise (domain and technical)
  • Contributed to establishing technical strategy and metrics, motivated colleagues to align, and relied on company policies and procedures to tackle delicate problems
  • Wrote system design and architecture documents, ensure team outstanding code quality, and excellent performance
  • Understood team level goals and leveraged them to solve complex problems, in close collaboration with team members
  • Planned and executed sprints, demonstrating excellent prioritization skills
  • Contributed to the evaluation of SWEs strengths and weaknesses
  • Demonstrated good judgement & calm when facing uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Able to engender a sense of having a solid character rooter on relevant personal values
