As Controller at Ohi, you will be a founding member of our finance team and responsible for a wide-range of duties, including shaping our accounting strategy, overseeing and coordinating GAAP compliance activities, revenue recognition, company policies, sales tax, accounts receivable & accounts payable, and other important accounting and finance processes. Ohi is looking for someone who, while maintaining day-to-day operations, can look beyond those operations to set foundational accounting strategy to support Ohi's long-term growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Helping build a proactive accounting function from the ground up
• Thinking critically about how to properly account for a new and unique business model
• Keeping accounting practices in order and meeting GAAP, revenue recognition, and other accounting standards
• Balancing the full cycle of day-to-day accounting operations, while setting long-term strategic foundations
• Monitor and track costs across the business ensuring it is run as efficently as possible
• Coordinate month- and year-end activities, including client invoicing and tax filings
• Continuously improving our accounting processes and techniques
• Generating insightful and actionable financial & business analysis for business leaders across the organization
• Manage financial forecasts and commission plans
  
  

Skills and Requirements:

• 3+ years in accounting or as a Controller or CPA working with B2B SaaS/technology companies
• Ability to own, build, and maintain an entire accounting system for a startup company
• Mastery of GAAP compliance standards and revenue recognition, with an ability to apply these standards to a unique business model with software and hardware components
• Ability to generate various reports and analyses for Ohi's team
• Understanding of sales tax and ability to own the sales tax process
• Ability to analyze monthly financials against forecasts and understand variances
• Ability to support 409A valuation processes
• Strong data analysis and modeling skills, especially applied against company financials
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and other accounting software
• Familiarity with Bill.com and/or other AR / AP processing platforms
