About the RoleThe Director of Operations and Finance will play an important role in shaping the future of our company. This is a highly strategic yet roll-up-your-sleeves role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will oversee and optimize day-to-day operations, lead financial planning and analysis, and provide data-driven insights to guide executive decision-making.
This role is remote, with occasional travel for team meetings and industry events. Presence in the Washington DC or SF Bay areas is a bonus.
Key Responsibilities Finance and Administration- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to align with company goals.
- Manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, visibility and compliance, including preparation of investor and Board materials.
- Develop and maintain a dashboard of key KPIs and deliver regular performance updates to the leadership team and investors.
- Oversee cash flow management, accounts receivable/payable, and financial risk assessments.
- Partner with external accountants, auditors, and legal advisors to maintain compliance and efficient tax planning.
- Supervise employee and contractor recruiting and onboarding, and manage the company’s equity compensation plan.
- Help manage the company’s Board and investor reporting and relationships.
- Help plan and execute company and team initiatives and events.
- Implement and continuously improve systems and tools to support growth (e.g., CRM, ERP, and financial software).
- Support our sales team by overseeing the customer contracting process.
- Design and optimize operational processes to drive efficiency across teams, including defining and tracking OKRs across the organization.
- Develop and execute operational strategies to meet our objectives, including hiring plans and resource allocation.
- Oversee vendor management, procurement, and contract negotiations.
- Act as a thought partner with the management team, contributing to high-level strategic planning.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve profitability, scalability, and team performance.
- Represent the company with investors and board members during financial reviews and presentations.
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in finance, operations, or similar roles in SaaS companies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- Skills: Strong financial modeling, data analysis, and strategic planning skills. Proficiency in SaaS metrics (e.g., ARR, LTV, CAC) is a must.
- Tools: Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, and SaaS reporting tools (e.g., HubSpot, ChartMogul, QuickBooks).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, lead projects, and influence outcomes in a high-growth environment.
