About BriefCatch

BriefCatch is the AI-powered legal writing tool trusted by lawyers, law firms, and courts to write clearer, more persuasive, and more accurate legal documents. Founded in 2017 by legal writing authority Ross Guberman, BriefCatch is purpose-built for the AI era: it works inside Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the web to sharpen prose and verify accuracy before filing, catching the misquotes, misstated holdings, and unsupported assertions that general-purpose AI tools miss. Every suggestion is grounded in real judicial opinions and filings, not scraped internet data.

About the Role

BriefCatch is hiring a Director of Growth Marketing to build and scale the engine that brings qualified legal professionals into our free trial funnel and pipeline. This is a pivotal moment for our go-to-market motion: we're shifting from a sales-driven model to an increasingly user-led, product-led one, and we need a demand gen leader who has actually built this kind of engine before: someone who can identify ICP-fit prospects, drive them to trial, and nurture them into paying customers who stick around.

You'll report to our CMO and own demand generation strategy end to end: multi-channel campaigns, landing pages and conversion optimization, lead scoring and routing, and the measurement discipline to know what's actually working and why. You'll partner closely with content, brand, sales, and product to make sure the leads we generate aren't just plentiful… they're the ones most likely to convert and stay as paying, happy customers.

This is a builder's role on a small, fast-moving team. You should be energized by owning a function with more ambiguity than headcount, at least at first, and comfortable getting your hands dirty while also thinking strategically about where the function needs to go.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute demand generation strategies to meet and exceed lead generation and pipeline targets, anchored to core PLG metrics: trial signups, activation rate, trial-to-paid conversion, and CAC payback.
  • Plan and help execute multi-channel growth campaigns (paid media, email and lifecycle marketing, content syndication, webinars, and events) to attract and engage target audiences.
  • Own the trial activation and onboarding lifecycle — in-product messaging, onboarding email sequences, and milestone-based nudges that move new sign-ups to their first “aha” moment and toward paid conversion.
  • Build and maintain the core tracking materials that keep the team organized and accountable (campaign trackers, landing page inventories, marketing production/deliverables schedules, budget trackers, etc) so there's always a single source of truth for what's live, what's planned, and what it costs.
  • Own CRM hygiene and the broader marketing ops infrastructure — clean lead data, accurate routing rules, a well-integrated mar-tech stack, and the product usage/analytics data needed to surface activation and engagement signals.
  • Optimize conversion rates across digital channels and landing pages using a disciplined test-and-learn approach. Build, test, and iterate on landing pages to improve performance over time.
  • Qualify and score leads using both firmographic fit and in-product usage signals to identify product-qualified leads (PQLs), nurturing self-serve trial users toward paid conversion and looping in sales only for expansion or enterprise-fit accounts.
  • Support field marketing opportunistically — tradeshow activations and other events — as a secondary channel alongside the core self-serve acquisition motion.
  • Manage the Marketing Manager, Business Development Manager and freelance/contract support for paid media and RevOps, recruiting and training additional junior marketing staff as the team grows.
  • Track, measure, and report on campaign effectiveness, turning data into concrete recommendations, and keep campaign activity organized and visible across platforms and channels.
  • Collaborate with content and brand teams to keep campaign strategy and messaging aligned with buyer personas and business objectives.
  • Manage relationships with external partners (agencies, freelancers, and vendors) for campaign execution and creative asset development.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices in demand generation, marketing automation, digital marketing, and product-led growth, and bring the best of them back to BriefCatch.
  • Think beyond the initial sign-up: understand the full customer journey so that qualified leads convert not only to trial sign-ups, but to paying customer accounts that renew and grow.
  • Help build a strong, positive team culture, one where we work hard, move fast, have fun, and take pride in work that drives BriefCatch's growth.
  • Other duties as needed…we're a small team, and priorities shift.

What You'll Bring

  • 8–10+ years of B2B SaaS demand generation experience, including experience managing people and/or leading cross-functional campaign execution, with a track record of hitting pipeline and lead targets
  • Hands-on experience scaling a free-trial or freemium acquisition motion, not only enterprise, sales-led demand gen. You've personally built and optimized programs that move prospects from top-of-funnel through trial sign-up and into paid conversion.
  • Demonstrated comfort in implementing, using and optimizing across a range of mar-tech tools and channels, including but not limited to paid media, marketing automation/CRM platforms, CMS platforms, product analytics platforms (e.g., Amplitude), and SEO and other analytics tools. Note: prior experience using Hubspot is mandatory.
  • Fluency with AI tools across the demand gen stack and a clear point of view on where AI genuinely moves pipeline metrics versus where it's just noise. As a company built on AI, we expect you to use AI tools to get more done with a lean team, not just talk about it.
  • Comfort operating in a small, early-stage environment. Willing to wear multiple hats, build processes that don't yet exist, and move without a large team or an established playbook.
  • Strong analytical instincts: you can read a funnel, diagnose where it's leaking, and build a testing plan to fix it.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and an extreme-ownership mindset: you treat demand gen results like they're your own business, not a set of tasks to hand off and hope for the best.
  • Strong project management skills: able to juggle multiple campaigns, KPIs, and stakeholders simultaneously without dropping the ball on any of them.
  • Experience marketing to legal, legal tech, or other complex/regulated B2B audiences is a strong plus.
  • A good sense of humor, 99% of the time.
