Our Solution:
Developers and owners no longer need to run building wiring or install in-unit hardware. Role Overview:
ButterflyMX is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our stellar team that focuses on building world class products for the built world. Our mission is to revolutionize how people access the buildings that they live and work in.

Responsibilities:
Partner with Product, Design, and other Engineering Leads to define key results and align team goals with company objectives.
Ensure the team has a clear vision and roadmap to achieve their goals efficiently.
Adapt and evolve Agile processes to best fit team and project needs.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the team to identify bottlenecks and find ways to accelerate delivery.
Provide support and guidance to engineers to enhance their technical and professional skills.
Collaborate with QA teams to uphold high-quality releases and improve software reliability.
Address team interpersonal challenges and proactively manage performance issues.
Work with Engineering Leads to align coaching efforts on technical development and engineering best practices.
Assess team composition and hiring needs to ensure the necessary skills and expertise are available.
Actively recruit and source engineers to build a strong, diverse team while collaborating with recruiting teams to optimize interview loops and training engineers in hiring best practices.
Ensure engineers understand how their work aligns with broader company goals and objectives.
Help define, document, evolve, and evangelize high engineering standards and best practices across multiple areas
Requirements:
7+ years of professional development experience
3+ years of managerial experience including setting goals and driving results, managing performance and development, and resource management
4+ years of professional development experience in TypeScript, JavaScript
Strong experience with automated CI/CD pipelines
Strong experience working in and advocating for Agile environments
Deep understanding of testing and what, when and how to test
Extensive experience with developing and maintaining APIs, as well as integrating with 3rd party APIs
Hands on experience working in a Distributed/Cloud-based environment (e.g. Amazon EC2/ECS, Lambdas, No-SQL DB, Azure, etc.) within a service-oriented architecture
Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries
Experience with using Docker and development in a dockerized environment
Experience with managing security for Linux/AWS/Docker environments
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
Experience with computer vision applications and image/video processing
Experience with GraphQL
Familiarity with development for IoT devices
Well versed in the disciplines of security, reliability, and scalability
