Coterie is looking for an Sr. Product Manager to build physical product strategy and shepherd development through concepting, design, development, and launch.
This role will be the voice of the consumer and an advocate for internal business needs and goals when working with cross-functional teams, both internal and external. They will work with the Head of Product Management to define a product strategy that meets/exceeds business goals, then lead the product development process through go-to-market and commercialization. They will make meaningful, data-driven, and business-aligned decisions during product development to ensure we launch best-in-class products that achieve portfolio objectives.
The Sr. Product Manager will collaborate with multiple teams including our physical product teams on testing & claims, consumer insights to ensure we make data-driven and consumer-focused decisions, and our supply chain, operations, and CX teams to ensure a seamless handoff during/after manufacturing scale up. This role will serve as the product leader and must understand the interplay between product design, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, brand, business goals, and claims to drive and streamline decision making and product development.
The ideal candidate for this role is a collaborative teammate that can wear many hats and is a strategic and thoughtful communicator able to distill clarity out of ambiguity. The Sr. Product Manager will sit on the Product Management team and report directly to the Head of Product Management.
Requirements
You Will:
- Define business strategy, financial targets, and future release strategy for multiple products to achieve innovation objectives.
- Make pricing, pack count, product size, and initial sales estimates recommendations to our Supply Chain and Operations team.
- Own the product development process from concept to launch and manage internal/external stakeholders to ensure decisions ladder up to product strategy and financial targets.
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, regulatory, and QA to define product testing requirements to achieve performance claims.
- Work closely with R&D/Industrial Design, Supply Chain & Ops, and Brand/Creative throughout the product development cycle and ensure a seamless handoff during scaleup to our operations partners.
- Recommend product positioning and the messaging hierarchy, working closely with Consumer Insights and R&D to ensure we design for our target consumer persona.
- Partner with our CX team for new product training, and optimize the feedback loop on customer feedback, requests & complaints.
- Monitor in-market performance of competitive products with our Data Analytics lead to provide cross-functional readouts and strategic recommendations to improve ongoing product performance and meet or exceed business objectives.
- Collaborate with our Brand Marketing lead on GTMs so that every product launch is positioned for success
- Compile competitive market research and educate the team at large about what others in our space are doing, successfully and unsuccessfully.
- Closely follow emerging technology, consumer, and societal trends to ensure product positioning and strategy aligns with our core brand principles.
You Have:
- Must have an undergraduate degree in engineering or similar, MBA a plus
- 4-7 years of experience across brand management, product management, product development, management consulting, or similar
- While this role is remote, location in the Pacific Time Zone preferred
- The candidate must be willing to travel domestically and internationally
- Experience shepherding cross-functional teams from initial concepting and consumer need understanding through the physical consumer product development process and launching into market
- Experience defining software/digital product requirements is a plus
- A proven ability to define an opportunity, set product strategy, develop competitive positioning, and build product requirements to align cross-functional teams
- Experience managing multiple external vendors and acting as the single point of truth in project success
- An acumen for project management, capable of defining, tracking, and communicating progress against key cross-functional milestones and understanding the interdependencies between functions
- An ability to refine day-to-day happenings into periodic updates and decisions for leadership, who will trust you to manage the details
- Strong communication and strategy skills with an analytical mindset
- An appetite for problem-solving and flexibility with fast-paced, ever-changing environments
- Highly collaborative, with an ability to manage across multiple teams, projects, and priorities efficiently and effectively
- A mind for research and critical thinking and can perform customer analysis to inform customer-focused marketing assets

Salary
The expected base salary for this role is $130,000-150,000 depending on a number of factors including job, level, experience and skill set.
