About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Manager of Materials, Shipping & Production Flow to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. The Manager of Materials, Shipping & Production Flow will oversee both the order entry and shipping teams. In this role, you will manage a team of 25+ order entry and shipping specialists in a state of the art and digital-only facility in Lehi, UT. You will be responsible for ensuring that orders are fabricated at the highest quality standards per customer deadlines and our internal quality & safety standards. What You'll Do

  • Scale: Continuously seek opportunities to improve workflows and processes for optimal efficiency and scalability

  • Data-Driven Optimization: Outline, track, and report on key performance indicators to drive accountability and informed decision-making to help the facility reach new levels

  • Problem Solve: Quickly troubleshoot and solve people, process, and technology issues as you operate within large scale and fast paced dental lab

  • Quality Adherence: Monitor and enforce adherence to strict standard operating procedures and roll up your sleeves to lead by example where needed. High quality is key to efficient scalability!

  • Inventory Monitoring: Develop and optimize workflows to ensure your department properly tracks key inventory (e.g., paper, ink, lab pans) and re-supplies as needed

  • Lead: Lead, scale, and continuously train a team of 25+ specialists as they execute daily operational tasks

  • Collaborate: Work with other teams to proactively identify and address high priority improvement opportunities

  • Report directly to the facility’s Director of Operations

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience managing a department in a manufacturing environment, preferably related to dental and/or medical devices OR 2+ years (post-grad) of consulting experience specializing in manufacturing or service operations

  • Proven track record of improving KPIs at a team and/or department level

  • Comfortable performing data analysis and making decisions based on the results

  • Experience reporting on performance metrics during recurring business meetings

  • Passion for breaking down complex problems into smaller manageable steps in order to help team members effectively work through the ambiguity

  • High level of comfort with digital tools and technology

  • Very high attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Natural curiosity and ability to learn new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly

  • Strong self-motivation, self-direction, and ability to work with multiple stakeholders to push improvement initiatives to completion

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Bonus Points For

  • Previously built and/or led a production and/or order entry team in a dental lab, including building the operational infrastructure (e.g., lab management software configuration, written SOPs)

  • Outstanding professional references to share
