Funnel Leasing Inc., is hiring for a Manager Software Engineering that can 'work from anywhere' in the U.S. The Manager of Software Engineering is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality software products within the company. This role will lead a team of software engineers and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of projects. A successful candidate will have experience in managing engineering teams, implementing agile methodologies, and driving technical excellence across the organization.

The Manager of Software Engineering's essential roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Roles and responsibilities

Team Management

• Build, mentor, and lead a team of 4 or more high-performing software engineers
• Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for the engineering team
• Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages cross-functional teamwork and innovation
• Facilitate professional development and continuous learning by fostering open communication and a feedback-driven environment.
• Implement talent acquisition strategies to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent

Project Execution

• Collaborate with product management and design teams to define project requirements and timelines
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products that meet or exceed customer expectations
• Drive engineering best practices, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and automated testing
• Manage technical debt and ensure the adoption of new technologies as appropriate
• Perform other duties as assigned and modified at the manager's discretion
• Travel up to 5% of the time

Process Optimization

• Implement scalable processes and tools to support the company's growing engineering needs
• Continuously improve engineering processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity
• Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the engineering organization

Education, Work Experience, and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in technical leadership and management
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-quality software products in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams
• Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and software development best practices
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and consensus-building skills
• Ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
