Lumen is seeking a dynamic Product Design Team Lead to oversee our talented design team. In this role, you will lead a cross-functional group of designers, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a strong ability to work independently, solve complex design challenges, and effectively communicate solutions across the organization. As a Design Team Lead, you should be well-versed in current UX trends and implementation practices, with a holistic approach to design while maintaining attention to detail. You will be responsible for guiding user research and testing efforts to validate product experiences and apply insights across the team.

What we are looking for

• 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• BA degree in Visual Communication, Interaction Design, or related field
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring design teams
• Strong portfolio showcasing both individual contributions and team-led projects
• Experience building on B2C products.
• Expertise in designing mobile apps and web applications
• Proficiency in user research methods and usability testing
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking
• Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities effectively

Requirements

• Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality design output.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align design strategies with business goals and user needs.
• Oversee design projects throughout the entire product lifecycle, managing multiple product launches simultaneously.
• Establish and maintain design systems to ensure consistency and improve user experience across all products.
• Drive the implementation of UX best practices and adherence to Lumen's design standards and brand guidelines.
• Conduct and oversee user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve product experiences.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices, implementing innovative approaches to elevate the team's design processes.
• Balance hands-on design work with team management responsibilities, providing creative direction and feedback.
• Work independently while also fostering effective collaboration within cross-functional teams to achieve company goals and drive product impact.
