About Solace

Healthcare in the U.S. is fundamentally broken. The system is so complex that 88% of U.S. adults do not have the health literacy necessary to navigate it without help. Solace cuts through the red tape of healthcare by pairing patients with expert advocates and giving them the tools to make better decisions—and get better outcomes.

We're a Series C startup, founded in 2022 and backed by Inspired Capital, Craft Ventures, Torch Capital, Menlo Ventures, Signalfire, and IVP. Our U.S. based team is lean, mission-driven, and growing quickly.

Solace isn't a place to coast. We're here to redefine healthcare—and that demands urgency, precision, and heart. If you're looking to stretch yourself, sharpen your edge, and do the best work of your life alongside a team that cares deeply, you're in the right place. We’re intense, and we like it that way.

About the Role

This isn't a Workday admin role where you process tickets and answer how-to questions. You'll be the person who gets inside the system — configuring business processes, building automations, and making sure clean data flows between Workday and the rest of the People tech stack.

You'll work directly with our Total Rewards & Infrastructure Lead, who sets the vision for People systems and comp infrastructure. Your job is to build it. That means hands-on Workday configuration, identifying where automation can eliminate manual work, and staying curious about where AI fits into a modern People function.

It's a small team, the work is real, and what you build will be felt across the entire company.

What You'll Work On

Workday Configuration & Systems

  • Configure and maintain business processes — how approvals route, how tasks trigger, how workflows sequence across the employee lifecycle

  • Build and maintain custom reports and calculated fields that feed compensation decisions and headcount tracking

  • Manage security roles so the right people have access to the right data

  • Support integrations between Workday, payroll, Pulley, and Ashby so data flows without manual reconciliation

Automation & AI

  • Spot manual, repetitive workflows and help build the automations that replace them

  • Research and test AI tools relevant to People Operations and bring back a point of view

  • Stay current on what Workday is shipping natively on AI and automation

Compensation Support

  • Support the data infrastructure behind salary bands, job architecture, and leveling frameworks

  • Help maintain equity administration in Pulley — grants, vesting schedules, terminated employee records

  • Assist with the annual comp review cycle from a systems and data perspective

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years in an HRIS, People Ops, or People Systems role, ideally inside a fast-moving company

  • Real Workday experience — you've configured business processes and built reports, not just navigated the UI

  • Genuine curiosity about AI tools — you follow what's happening, have opinions, and want to use them at work

  • You don't wait for a perfect brief — you figure it out, build it, and flag what you learned

  • Comfortable working with compensation data and supporting modeling work

  • You can explain a system problem to someone non-technical without making it complicated

Why This Role

You're joining while the foundation is still being laid. The systems built here over the next year will shape how Solace runs for a long time. You'll have real ownership over meaningful work, close access to leadership, and a team that's genuinely excited about using AI to do People Ops differently. If you want a role where you can grow fast and actually see the impact of what you build, this is a good one.

Applicants must be based in the United States.
