Collaborating Psychiatrist
Massachusetts, USA · Cohasset, MA, USA
Third Space Therapy combines the independence of private practice with the support of a group setting, focused on expanding Medicaid-covered behavioral healthcare.
We're looking for board-certified Psychiatrists to serve as Collaborating Physicians for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. This is a flexible engagement centered on collaboration, chart review, and clinical consultation within a fully remote care model serving Medicaid populations.
Why physicians work with us
Complete flexibility. You set your own hours and availability and shape the work around your own practice — alongside your existing clinical work.
Your judgment, your practice. You conduct collaboration and chart review according to your own clinical judgment and the requirements of your license.
Collaborative model. Work alongside PMHNPs and therapists in an integrated behavioral health practice.
Paid per PMHNP. You're paid a monthly rate for each PMHNP you collaborate with, at a competitive rate.
Meaningful work. Expand access to high-quality psychiatric care for Medicaid members.
What you'll do
Provide the physician collaboration required under Massachusetts law for the PMHNPs you work with
Conduct chart reviews as set out in the collaborative practice agreement, covering clinical quality, prescribing, and documentation
Meet with PMHNPs to discuss complex cases, diagnostic questions, and treatment planning
Provide real-time and asynchronous consultation on challenging or escalating patient presentations
What you'll need
An active, unrestricted MD or DO license in good standing in Massachusetts
Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
Your own malpractice coverage ($1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate)
Working knowledge of collaborative practice requirements for PMHNPs
Experience treating diverse psychiatric conditions across the lifespan
Comfort with telehealth, EHR-based chart review, and remote communication tools
A quiet, HIPAA-compliant home office, plus your own computer and reliable internet
We're looking for physicians who bring
Experience collaborating with or supervising PMHNPs
Strong clinical judgment across a range of psychiatric presentations and populations
The ability to thoughtfully balance regulatory requirements with meaningful clinical partnership
A genuine commitment to expanding access to psychiatric care for Medicaid members
