Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for supporting supply chain functions including logistics, food and packaging procurement on the weekends and Wednesday nights.
Location: Chicago, remote
How you’ll spend your time at Tovala:
- Integrate within the Tovala Supply Chain team and provide support and coverage to logistics, food, packaging and demand planning teams.
- Communicate shortages or delays in product arrival that will affect the production schedule.
- Strategize the recovery plan with the Operations team to expedite or fill in elsewhere with minimal impact to production.
- Follow up on any inbound delivery delays and communicate updated timelines to the Operations team.
- Place Purchase Orders for shortages that are flagged by the Operations team.
- Work closely with the Inventory and Production teams at all facilities.
- Monitor weekend linehaul pickups to ensure timely departures and confirm that loads are arriving on time and in good condition.
- Work closely with freight brokers and carriers to keep shipments on track and resolve any delivery or pickup issues.
- Monitor reefer trailer temperatures and escalate if there are spikes in temperature.
- Monitor driver location and escalate if they have been at a location for a long period of time.
- Track deliveries to verify linehaul trailer arrivals at receivers and confirm that we make service cuts.
- Support and communicate with warehouse teams to address any operational challenges over the weekend.
- Escalate supply issues to the wider team as required.
About you:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of procurement, logistics and transportation workflows, and other supply chain functions.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and open to learning new software tools.
