Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transit networks, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. With hundreds of agency partners around the world, Via is recognized as the leading transportation technology and service provider globally.

As a Business Development Working Student, you’ll play a pivotal role supporting our growth by identifying new opportunities and helping bring our TransitTech vision to markets across the DACH region. Embedded in our Partnerships team, you will pick up real experience in entrepreneurship, strategic partnerships, marketing, and the exciting world of on-demand mobility. Your impact is clear: helping Via bring efficient, sustainable, inclusive tech-supported transportation to more communities.

What you’ll do

  • Build a deep understanding of Via’s technology and articulate its value to a wide range of external stakeholders: from public transport authorities and municipalities to corporate partners, school networks, and regional operators.
  • Support with lead generation initiatives and early-stage outreach across the German-speaking markets, identifying organizations whose mobility challenges align with Via’s solutions.
  • Conduct thoughtful market research to map local mobility priorities, existing service models, regulatory frameworks, funding programs and emerging opportunities — then translate insights into strategic recommendations and informed partner conversations.
  • Support early-stage sales motions by preparing high-quality materials: funding research, proposal support, opportunity briefs, and initial business cases.
  • Shape the way we tell our story in the region by developing localized case studies, sharp marketing assets, and highly engaging webinars or events.

About You:

  • A university student (3rd year or beyond) who’s hungry to learn by actually doing. Background in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, Entrepreneurship, or related fields is a plus — but we’re flexible and open to other areas of study too.
  • Fluent in German (native-level) and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A creative problem-solver, you are analytical and quick on your feet. You love understanding how things work and turning insight into action.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-focused; you can juggle multiple threads without losing momentum.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where every week looks a little different.
  • Eager for feedback, and motivated by the chance to make a real impact early in your career.

What We Offer:

  • Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good:
    • We are one of 17 Ventures That Embody the U.N.’s 17 Sustainability Goals
    • Inc. Magazine’s “Best in Business” Awardee in the software category for Companies That Put Purpose Before Profit
  • Base salary pay: €15-17/hour pay (15-20 hours a week)
  • A hybrid working model and a spacious office in Mitte, where you can enjoy weekly team lunches and breakfast
  • Access to Urban Sports Club

We’re Via, and we build technology that changes the way the world moves. We pioneered the TransitTech category to ensure that the future of transportation is shared, dynamic public mobility — the kind that reduces carbon emissions across congested cities, minimizes reliance on private cars, and provides everyone with accessible, efficient, and affordable ways of getting around.
We created the first end-to-end TransitTech solution for cities and transit agencies, offering world-class software, service design, and operational expertise to fundamentally improve the way the world moves.
Via was founded with the guiding principle that we go further when we go together. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. All backgrounds, identities, and voices are welcomed and celebrated at Via.
