As an HR Business Partner at Via, you will play a critical role in shaping the day-to-day experience of our Operations teams (Fleet, Field, Support). You won’t just support the business: you’ll actively help scale it, strengthening our managers, evolving our people practices, and ensuring our teams are set up to thrive as we grow. Working closely with our international People Team, you’ll bring Via’s global people philosophy to life while thoughtfully localizing it for Germany.
About the Role:
- Be a trusted coach and thought partner to managers, helping them support employees across the full lifecycle and unlock the next level of performance for their teams.
- Lead with empathy to understand the needs of employees across roles, from Drivers to Field Managers to Fleet Specialists, and anticipate challenges before they arise.
- Navigate employee relations matters with care, speed, and sound judgment, partnering with managers, Legal, and other stakeholders when needed.
- Assess organizational and team-level challenges, advocate for the right solutions, and drive execution end-to-end.
- Use data and insights to inform decisions around engagement, attendance management, retention, and compliance.
- Regularly review, refine, and strengthen local HR processes and policies to ensure they support business priorities and exemplify Via’s values.
- Champion a work environment grounded in Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion: not as a checkbox, but as a lived commitment.
About You:
- Native-level (or C2) in German and fluent in English, with the ability to communicate clearly and thoughtfully on complex or sensitive topics.
- 4-6 years of experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist or similar role within a fast-moving environment.
- A true culture carrier: you bring optimism, warmth, pragmatism and nuance, especially when navigating difficult situations.
- Action-oriented and proactive; you spot gaps, propose solutions, and take real ownership of implementation and iteration.
- Deeply empathetic and trusted — people naturally come to you for guidance, especially in employee relations matters.
- Experienced with HR systems such as HRMS, payroll, or related tools.
- Based in Berlin, with a willingness to travel periodically across Germany (e.g. Frankfurt, Hanover) to stay connected to teams on the ground.
