The Staff Accountant is a junior position within Sylva and will work closely with the finance team. This position is responsible and accountable for assisting with the financial controls and leading the transactional financial operations function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the efficient, accurate, and timely production of consolidated financial statements.
  • Assisting with execution of the month-end close and consolidation processes, including recording of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other g/l accounts.
  • Ensuring business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably with a mid-size to large company
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Must have experience with NetSuite
  • Software company experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP principles
  • Heavy Excel usage (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and the ability to apply knowledge in identifying and resolving issues with internal stakeholders
